One week, several projects, and the honest story of what moved forward.
Build Week 95: Little Fixes, Big Help, and One Happy Pickaxe 🏮
TGIF! 🎉 Another week has packed its tiny suitcase and disappeared. So, what did we actually get done?
The short version: we made a few things easier, added more help where people may need it, and kept Minecraft from doing anything too Minecraft-y. That is a win in my book. 😄
CalvinEllis.dev got a family picture 🎨
The website got fresh artwork that brings the Gumdum project family together in one place.
- What changed: The homepage and company page now have matching project-family artwork.
- What that means: The site looks more like one big family of projects and less like everybody showed up to picture day wearing different uniforms.
- Is it live? Yep. The live site was checked, and the new artwork is loading correctly. ✅
CEPLS kept everybody’s homework in one folder 📚
CEPLS is the big organized bookshelf behind all these projects. It keeps track of what we planned, what we built, what we tested, and what still needs attention.
- This week, CEPLS gathered the Friday notes and checked that the pieces fit together.
- In regular-folks language: it helps stop the classic problem of, “I know we wrote that down somewhere…”
- The source sheet passed its checks, so the paperwork monster has been fed. ✅
- One record still needs to catch up with newer proof from the live CalvinEllis.dev deployment. Nothing is broken; the filing cabinet just needs one label updated.
Gabby checked the mirrors 🚙
Gabby Road Trip had a quiet week. No big new traveler feature rolled out, and that is perfectly okay.
- A little behind-the-scenes cleanup kept the app’s foundation tidy.
- The simple version: Gabby checked the mirrors, adjusted the seat, and did not race down the highway before the next stop was planned. 😄
Bible Breeze stayed calm and steady 📖
Bible Breeze also had a quiet week for readers.
- Some routine housekeeping happened under the hood.
- The reading experience did not suddenly move the buttons, change the furniture, or add a fog machine.
- The goal is still the same: a peaceful, dependable place to read and study God’s Word. 🙏
Quietly Sober added more real-world help 🌤️
This was the busiest corner of the workshop. The important part is not the computer code—it is making recovery support easier to find and easier to use.
- More help is live: A reviewed set of 24 Recovery Resources is now available. That means more practical answers, trusted support links, and a gentle place to start when somebody needs information.
- Mood check-ins are getting easier: A new reflection flow is being built around one calm question at a time. No giant form. No homework packet. Just one small step, then another if the member wants it.
- Sponsor Finder is getting simpler: Members will see two clear doors—Find a Sponsor or My Sponsee Card—followed by easier setup and card-style browsing.
- Saving should feel safer: A problem with the first save on a new Sponsor Card was fixed. If a future save hiccups, the screen should not toss away everything the member typed.
- A few comfort upgrades are coming too: Clearer account controls, a calmer sober-time card, and some new theme choices are moving through testing.
Some of these improvements are still in the workshop. They need browser, phone, accessibility, and real-member checks before anyone calls them finished. Slow and steady beats shiny and shaky. 🐢
Minecraft stayed fun—and slightly suspicious ⛏️
The public Minecraft pages got clearer instructions and more honest messages when live information is not available.
- In plain English: people should have an easier time figuring out how to join and where to go.
- Hardcore came back with the title The Suspiciously Cheerful Pickaxe.
- An extended play session felt smooth, with no noticeable lag.
- The pickaxe is still cheerful. We are still watching it. 👀
Brix prepared the safe world-swap controls 🦫
Bedrock Control Center kept working on a safer way to replace the Hardcore world.
- Step one: pick one of five prepared world names.
- Step two: upload the new world.
- That two-step setup is meant to make a very big change feel clear and controlled.
- The admin screen was checked, but no world was replaced and no Minecraft service was changed. Brix kept his paws off the big red button. Good beaver. 👍
The Friday-sized summary ☕
- More recovery help made it into people’s hands.
- Several Quietly Sober ideas moved closer to being ready.
- CalvinEllis.dev got a proper family picture.
- Minecraft stayed smooth and silly.
- CEPLS kept the receipts.
- No worlds were accidentally launched into the sun. 🚀
That is Build Week 95 in regular-people language. Thanks for following along, and have a wonderful weekend! 🏮
